Each year, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation awards grants to scholars conducting research at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Each grant includes up to $2,000 in support of defraying the cost of travel, living, and photocopy expenses of a research trip to the Ford Library from within North America. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation typically authorizes $30,000-$35,000 for grants each year, supporting a number of scholarly projects.
Library collections focus on Federal policies, U.S. foreign relations and security, and national politics in the 1960s and 1970s. There is earlier and later material on some topics, and there is extensive biographical material on the lives of President Ford and Mrs. Ford.
